Walmart chose Fulton County and the Johnstown Industrial Park as the site of a Regional Return Center in 1995.

The success of that project encouraged Walmart to choose Fulton County once again – this time for its 900,000 square foot Northeast Regional Food Distribution Center. In 2000, Fulton County celebrated the grand opening of this 868,000 sq. ft. Distribution Center, which comprises 474,000 sq. ft. dry goods storage, 366,000 sq. ft. refrigeration and freezer storage, and 28,000 sq. ft. office space. The capital investment in Fulton County exceeded $70 million dollars. Walmart’s back end operations employ more than 1,000 in the county.
