Built for Tomorrow:
How Fulton County is Engineering the Future of Business
From AI defense to shovel-ready mega-sites,
here is how we prepared for 2025.
As we approach the end of the year, the Fulton County Center for Regional Growth (FCCRG) is reflecting on a year defined by aggressive preparation and technological advancement. If you’ve been following our 2025 Initiatives series, you know that Fulton County isn’t just open for business—we are actively building the infrastructure to support the industries of the future.
Here are the top four ways Fulton County solidified its status as a hub for innovation this year:
1. We Are Cyber-Ready
In a world where data breaches cost companies millions, Fulton County is fighting back. We highlighted how SUNY Fulton-Montgomery Community College (FMCC) launched a state-of-the-art IBM Cyber Range.
This isn’t just a classroom; it is a live-fire simulation lab where students defend against real-time cyberattacks. For tech founders like Emily Carter, this means a pipeline of talent ready to secure your SaaS platforms right here in the region.

2. Embracing New Industries
We featured the explosive growth of the cannabis industry, specifically Veterans Hemp Market and Veterans Holdings.
By navigating complex regulations and securing manufacturing licenses, local entrepreneurs are turning Fulton County into a production powerhouse, proving that we have the ecosystem to support highly regulated, high-growth sectors.

3. Shovel-Ready Means Speed
Time is money. We explored how the Johnstown Commerce Park is setting the standard for “speed to market.”
By conducting pre-development environmental and archaeological studies on this 250-acre site, we have removed the risk for developers. As site selection expert Christopher Lloyd noted in our series, “The more shovel ready a site is, the easier you can meet those timelines”.

4. Workforce Collaboration
Finally, we discussed how “We’re Better Together” regarding workforce development.
Through partnerships like the Expertise Project at Northville High School, we are using 3D video technology to show students that high-tech careers exist right in their backyards.
